HBCU Partners

How did the Strada HBCU Initiative get its start? It began on the campuses themselves.

In 2021 Strada met with leaders of more than 30 historically Black colleges and universities and asked: How can we help you do more of what you already do so well? How can we recognize HBCUs as a significant driver of degree attainment and economic mobility — and not only support that success, but extend it?

From those conversations emerged the Strada HBCU Initiative, a $25 million investment — Strada’s largest since its inception — to amplify and support the existing work of these anchor institutions.

Today 49 colleges and universities are part of this effort, and together, we’re experiencing what happens when those closest to students make decisions about how to best support them.
